If cutting edge chic is what you want, this is the hotel to head for. The stylishly pared-down interiors created by Olga Polizzi and Tommaso Ziffer bring Neo Classicism up to date and, combined with impeccable service and a prime location, make this one of the hottest hotels in the city.
Antique busts, vaulted ceilings and Venetian mirrors add a touch of old world grandeur, while lots of space, clever lighting and soft muted colours create a cool, contemporary feel. Since its opening, the De Russie has become the place for chic ‘Romani’ to hang out and the excellent restaurant on the pretty outdoor terrace draws a hip lunchtime crowd.
Spectacular gardens that back onto the Villa Borghese, filled with palms, lemon trees and cypress pines, are also a strong pull and provide wonderful respite from the noise – and in summer the heat – of the bustling city.
